Gate in Mykonos

After finishing high school, I took a summer trip to Europe to experience some new places.  I found myself in Greece, on the island of Mykonos where I fell in love with the smooth, curving lines of their architecture and bright blue accents.  The white sloping buildings made you feel as if you were walking through a snowy village.  During my time there I snapped numerous photos, including one of a little blue gate sitting partly open in front of a small house.  Later after arriving back home, I painted this piece with watercolors.  The impression of a place far away.
